05.12.2021 - Budget Meeting
After the purchase of the cups, my team and I had two meetings to discuss the cost-saving measures we will implement in the growth of our business. Having realised the challenges that come with running a startup after the consultation with Roderick and Adrian, we went over some realistic changes in our original business model, such as opting to use Shopee Affilate Programs for the sterlisers instead of selling it ourselves, and combed through several affordable options for our pouches and packaging.

20.12.2021 - Ordering the Drawstring Pouches
I travelled back home to India after 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was overwhelmed with joy of being reunited with my entire family. To make the most of this opportunity, I explored the local sellers for the most affordable drawstring pouches. Initially it was tough to convince the manufacturers to reduce their MOQ of 500 pouches, especially because we required a full, colourful print on both sides of the pouch. But speaking in Hindi was a useful skill that allowed me to negotiate and bring the MOQ down to 200 pouches, which is twice the quanity for one-third the price of the pouches from China that our team was considering.
One additional benefit was that we were able to order pouches made of satin for this price, instead of the usual cotton that may bleed colour, leaves cotton lint on the wet menstrual cups and is a very commonly used material with mainstream brands.
There was a lot to learn from ordering locally during the festive season. With Christmas approaching, it was important for my team and I to make a swift decision if we want to pursue this opportunity. But I realised that it was important to let my team know the details of this option early, even if it means I only have bits of information, so that we have more time to make a unanimous decision. Nevertheless, we were able to come to a consensus and were pleased to see that the images of the sample product were incredible. Currently, I am awaiting the arrival of the total ordered quantity of the drawstring pouches and will be travelling back to Singapore with them.

26.11.2021 - Menstrual Cup Purchase
The most exciting moment was when the menstrual cups finally arrived. After exceeding our budget for the cups so that the quality of the cups is not compromised and they are to our satisfaction, it was great to see the menstrual cups were perfect. The process of communicating with large-scale sellers and manufacturers was a new and exciting experience. Now our team will be a bit preoccupied with the ongoing exams and will resume to work on the remaining aspects soon after.
28.10.2021 - Registration & Market Survey
Now comes the more hands-on responsibilities. Firstly, we are amidst the process of endorsing and registering Dawn Cups as an LLP.
Additionally, I designed a menstrual cup market survey consisting of 12 questions to be sent out to our target audience. This was done with the aim of understanding the views of Singaporean women regarding menstrual health and hygiene. We hope to use the information obtained from this survey in guiding our team to make better decisions when trying to meet the demands of our future customers.
16.10.2021 - ET9135 Presentation
Following the report was the website presentation. I incorporated the value proposition, SWOT analysis, product and pricing under marketing mix and the expansion and exit strategies proposed into our website. We ensured to maintain a consistent theme and coherent flow of the content without making it too cluttered. I had never worked with Google Sites prior to this and found it surprisingly user-friendly.
04.10.2021 - ET9135 Business Plan
After finalising the menstrual cup business idea, my team and I began researching and working on our Business Plan report. The main focus was to deconstruct the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide a solution that is not detrimental to women's health or destructive to the environment. Consequently, Dawn Cups was born; a modern-day, pro-feminist and pro-environmental solution specifically for young, Asian women.
